Union Pacific will struggle to stop all accidents, incidents, occupational illness, and injuries by the active contribution of sponsors. General Instructions About Safety:

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Employees must follow the safety responsibilities.
  • Be accountable for your safety and behaviour
  • Protect completely the unsafe condition and report to legal authority
  • Work limits should according to physical competencies
  • Don’t force excessive force for the task completion
  • Maintain situational alertness

 

Job Briefing:

  • Job briefing should be conducted
  • With all workers individually before starting work
  • In case of any work plan or going to change group
  • Must consider existing and possible hazards due to weather, work scope, and all tools or equipment
  • Identify PPE needs
  • Allocate responsibilities
  • Describe briefly individual tasks with experiences and abilities
  • Be aware of all details of group and safety gear in all working areas

Moving and Lifting Material:

  • Check the load for weight, stability, grip, and size
  • Make sure about the clear pathway because debris and other obstacles may cause accidents
